A Message on Hurricane Matthew

hurricane matthewI am writing this at 5:30AM on Thursday, October 6, 2016 as Hurricane Matthew bears down on Florida. This morning I woke up even earlier, 3:40AM, and was not able to go back to sleep. I am preoccupied with the impending storm as my wife and 3-year-old son are sound asleep.

It’s not anxiety I feel, but a deep sense of responsibility as a husband, father and manager for my team at work. As the VP, I recognize that there are many eyes focused on the decisions of our management team over the next few days. Additionally, as an emergency services provider, we will be responding to homes that have sustained damage from the approaching storm.

hurricane matthew 2Yesterday we had a company meeting for those who could attend, and the message from Joe Taylor was simple: “your safety is first and foremost, and then, be a light of hope to hurricane victims by providing an ‘unmatched service experience.'” We recognize that as a company, we are privileged to serve our community in times such as these.

We are not a fly-by-night company looking to swoop in, make money and leave. No! We are community members just like you, who send our children to local schools, attend nearby churches, serve at area charities, and take our families to local beaches and parks. We know that during times like this, you are counting on us to be there for you and your family, to help protect your home and belongings.

These are the reasons I am awake at this early hour, writing this letter, feeling this deep sense of responsibility. My prayer is for those who have already been impacted by Hurricane Matthew, those who are still in the projected path, and for our company as we serve our community after the storm is over.

We hope that you and your families are safe, and we are here to help if you need us! Do not hesitate to contact us at (954) 784-2070 or claims@jtrestoration.com
