We are nearing the end of the love month, and so February’s Spotlight: Accounts Receivable Team- Headquarters is a perfect fit. This month, we focus on the accounts receivable (AR) team consisting of Maria Chaparro and Ellen Smith, both excellent at what they do, loved and appreciated by all, and who play a huge role at Joe Taylor Restoration (JTR)!

Ellen has been with JTR for three and a half years and is the AR team lead. Her favorite thing about JTR sums up the success of the AR team nicely; she says she appreciates “the ease and trust level the AR team has developed and nourished.” She also values “the interaction with internal and external customers; never a dull moment.”

Her favorite aspect of her job is being able to make a positive impact on the company.

In order for you to get to know her better, Ellen chose three topics about which to share: Family, Favorite Food, and Favorite Movie/Book:

Family

Family is everything! My immediate family is in Palm Beach. My son has blessed me with two beautiful and healthy granddaughters, ages 3 years old and 1 month, who I simply adore. Having them in my life has made me a better person. Seafood and game night with the family are the best- tasty food and non-stop laughter.

Favorite Food

I love any type of shrimp/crab dish.

Favorite Movie/ Book

Movie: The Birds. This movie is truly genius- the soundtrack and cinematography pull you in. Book: The Darkest Child by Delores Phillips. The issues and concerns written in this book are still relevant today.

It makes sense that Ellen and Maria would get along so well because they have much in common. Maria has also been with JTR for three and a half years as an AR specialist.

Maria’s favorite aspect of her job is similar to Ellen’s as well. She says she likes “the interaction with inside and outside customers and insurance companies. Also, the importance of creating exceptional business relationships and being able to witness all the positive results it brings to our company. I enjoy the environment, and I recognize it is essential for any industry. I also enjoy being able to connect with people inside and outside the company as it helps us grow and achieve our goals. Finally, the satisfaction it brings to collect payment in full for the services performed.”

Her favorite thing about JTR is “the company’s culture. Finding a work environment where you feel comfortable is key.”
