Employee Spotlight: John Cairns- Headquarters

spotlight headquartersAt Joe Taylor Restoration (JTR), we are blessed with an incredibly hard working team that comes from all kinds of experiences and backgrounds. But we are especially privileged to have several US military veterans working with us. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize one of these veterans in this month’s Employee Spotlight- Headquarters: John Cairns.

John is an Estimator in the cleaning department at the Delray Beach office, handling all manner of mold, fire, and biohazard restoration. He has been with JTR for one year, 8 months and has a wonderful reputation for putting customers at ease, doing his job with detailed care, and making the most of unpleasant situations.

John says his favorite thing about JTR is “the comradery within the estimating team. We support each other, discuss new ideas, and assist each other when needed.”

John’s favorite aspect of the job is “meeting new and interesting people. The other day, I met a lawyer that worked for 3 NHL hockey teams. He was talking to me at length about several HOF players he is friends with. He told me stories about the Bruins organization and Bobby Orr. You just never know who you will run into.”

In order for you to get to know him better, John chose three topics about which to share: his work or educational background/ experience, his hobbies/ interests, and his favorite destination(s)!

Work or Educational Background/ Experience

I proudly served in the United States Coast Guard (USCG) for 9.5 years as an Aviation Search and Rescue flight crew/ mechanic for the HH-60 j Helicopter and fixed wing HC-144 aircraft. After leaving the USCG to pursue my education, I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology from DeSales University.

Hobbies/ Interests

The first way any one of my friends would describe me is a Philly sports fanatic, primarily the Flyers and Eagles. There is nothing like the atmosphere of 20,000 Flyers fans screaming in unison “ LETS GO FLYERS!” in a game 7 playoff game.

Favorite Destination(s)

My favorite destination so far is Tulum, MX. There is just something about the atmosphere that is revitalizing for me- the music, the beaches, the food. Turks and Caicos is a close second.

Thank you, John, for sharing some about yourself in this month’s Employee Spotlight, Headquarters. We appreciate your service to our country and your dedication to JTR. Your impressive work ethic dealing with mold, fire and biohazard remediation, as well as your ability to consistently exceed our customer’s expectations, makes you an invaluable member of our team.
