As we say goodbye to March, we say hello to another Joe Taylor Restoration (JTR) Employee Spotlight. This time, the focus is on Steve McGrath, an Administrative Assistant at Headquarters who has been with JTR for four and a half years. Steve highlights something that is exceptional about JTR- the incredible team of people with so many gifts and talents, giving their best and working together for the success of the company and our customers.

Steve is incredibly positive and works hard to fill the open spots at JTR with the best people. He is one of the reasons that the team at JTR is so top notch! Steve’s favorite aspect of his job is “bringing new people into the company! Every restoration company has dehumidifiers and fans. What makes JTR unique is our people.” The same holds true for Steve’s favorite aspect of the company, which is “the people. I commute one hour each way to work. You don’t do that unless you really like the people around you.” That is so true, Steve, and speaks to how great our team is!

Hobbies/ Interests

My biggest passion is snow skiing! I have gone on a ski trip every year for the last 35 years. In the past 4 years, I have skied in France and Austria- just phenomenal!

Likes about Florida

I grew up in Maine, where it was cold and gray most of the year, so the likes are easy- sunshine, beaches, and warm weather.

Educational History/ Background

For 35 years, I was a newspaper editor and headline writer. Then, about 10 years ago, newspaper went off a cliff. It was time to reinvent myself, so, I walked through the door at JTR. It’s not a bad thing to reinvent yourself every so often. It’s like putting a new battery in an old car. It will get you where you need to go.

Steve, we are so glad that your new start included JTR! We appreciate all your hard work, and the optimism you bring to the team.
