September is here, and while the Florida sunshine keeps things warm, there’s still that unmistakable “back-to-school” energy in the air—a time for fresh starts, new routines, and renewed focus. It’s also the perfect moment to celebrate the people who make our workplace thrive.
This month’s Joe Taylor Restoration (JTR) Employee Spotlight: Southwest Florida Office is on Carlos Urena, a team player who embodies the dedication, consideration, and professionalism that keeps JTR moving forward.
Carlos has been with JTR for a year and a half as a Cleaning Production Team Leader in the Southwest Florida Office. He says his favorite aspect of his job is “leading a team and making sure every project is completed to the highest standard. It’s rewarding to see the transformation from start to finish and to know our work makes a real difference for our customers.”
Carlos is absolutely right about making a real difference! His hard work, along with his team, made a very positive impact recently on Jasmine, one of our customers in Cape Coral, Florida. She had the following to say about Carlos and JTR:
Let me just say WOW!!!! Carlos and his team at Joe Taylor Restoration were the best experience I’ve ever had- professional and clean. You can tell they take a lot of pride in the work they do.They were kind. Carlos always kept me in the loop and explained everything to me before they made decisions. They asked me my thoughts and if it was ok to proceed.
They didn’t just come wreck my house and make a mess. They actually did their best and reserved what they could clean. Everything is maybe more clean than when they found it, to be honest! They put everything nice and neat in my garage. I so much appreciate this! Thank you! They moved everything out in bags and kept my kid environment safe.

I’m a proud father and love spending time with my family. They’re my biggest motivation and inspiration to keep growing personally and professionally.
Hobbies/ Interests
I enjoy working on home improvement projects, trying new tools and techniques, and spending time outdoors.
Favorite Food
I’m a big fan of Brazilian cuisine, especially homemade dishes like arroz, feijoada and picanha. Good food always brings people together.
Carlos says his favorite thing about JTR is “the supportive and professional environment-” something that makes sense given that the company is made up of fantastic team members like him.
